Press Release of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in response to the UK Governments Sanctions on Iranian Entities and Individuals

In response to the recent decision of the UK Government on 21 August 2025 to impose unlawful sanctions against certain Iranian entities and individuals the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns these unilateral and illegal measures.

In response to the recent decision of the UK Government on 21 August 2025 to impose unlawful sanctions against certain Iranian entities and individuals, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns these unilateral and illegal measures.

The UK Government, relying on unfounded pretexts and baseless allegations, has taken such measures against Iranian individuals and entities, which are contrary to the principles of international law concerning friendly relations and cooperation between states in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations, and only damage bilateral relations and deepen mistrust.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has always emphasized dialogue and mutual respect in international relations and has neither planned nor supported any threat or action against the internal security of the United Kingdom. Such unfounded claims are rejected outright and are in no way acceptable.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran reiterates that what truly threatens regional and global peace and security are the aggressive actions and crimes by Israeli Zionist regime; a regime that is the main source of destabilising in the region and that, by committing various international crimes, including aggression, genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, has crossed all red lines. It is astonishing that Western countries still ignore international community protests against this child-killing Zionist regime and take no steps to stop its crimes.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran once again underscores Iran’s commitments to the principles of mutual respect, non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, and constructive cooperation at bilateral, regional, and international levels. It calls upon the UK Government to refrain its hostile policies and engaging in unlawful and destructive actions.
